Calendar 2025 project
The Calendar project was an assignment for an advanced graphic design class where we were tasked with creating a full calendar that had a cohesive theme
The most challenging aspect of this project was working with the calendar format and developing twelve unique spreads that effectively demonstrated the previously mentioned techniques. The format posed the greatest difficulty, as attempting to reinvent the traditional calendar layout delayed production and initially drew more focus than the design itself. This issue was ultimately resolved by experimenting with alignment and composition while maintaining the recognizable structure of a standard calendar.
The theme for the calendar was inspired by my love for the punk aesthetic and its bold, eye-catching visuals. I’ve always been drawn to the raw energy and unique style that comes with that look, so I wanted to capture that throughout the project. Most of the graphics were either edited or created from scratch to fit the theme and keep everything visually consistent. Starting with a few pre-planned designs helped me find my rhythm and made it easier to come up with fresh ideas for the rest of the spreads. This approach kept the overall style cohesive while still letting each month’s design have its own personality.
